The Universal Network Cable is the ULTIMATE Network Admin Tool!

Universal Network CableSo this is probably the coolest most useful thing I’ve seen at ThinkGeek lately. If you’re like me, you’re constantly looking for the right kind of network cable to connect a switch, hub, firewall, ip camera, computer, whatever to your network. Sometimes you need a straight thru cable, sometimes you need a cross over and recently, I even needed to create a T1 cable to hook a new router to our PBX system here at the office. Fortunately, I know how to wire cable, but if you’re in a hurry or you don’t want to bother, the Universal Network Cable is the one tool you NEED in your tool box.

I came across this baby in my email today when the overlords at TG decided to share the love. With a spin of the dial you have:

  • ROLLED: Connect a host to a Cisco router or switch
  • CROSSOVER: Communicate directly between computers without a hub or switch
  • STRAIGHT-THROUGH: Use as a standard RJ45 patch cable
  • ATM/LOOPBACK: Test if a network card is working by checking for link lights with no need for a hub or switch
  • T1: Connect to DDS lines / T1 trunk lines

Thats FIVE cable combinations in one little bundle. The time alone saved by using this as opposed to having to search for the right cable is immeasurable, now you can look like the SuperHero you are to everyone in your office as you whip out the Ultimate Network Cable and patch the network to save the day.

Oh, and if you think fast, you can save $5 off orders of $25 or more or $10 off orders of $40 or more when you vote using the CODES IMAPC to vote for Birthday Boy Michael Dell, IMAMAC for Steve Jobs or TUXFTW for Linus. Show your support and help decide the leader in computing at the same time!

Tech Giveaway from Tony’s and Free Pizza Coupons!

Posted on : 25-01-2010 | By : mcangeli | In : Daily Deal, Delusions

Google Buzz

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Tony’s Pizza. All opinions are 100% mine.

I don’t know if you’ve seen recently, but Tony’s Pizza has undergone a transformation. Used to be, Tony’s was the cheap pizza that we’d buy when we were having a party where food mattered less then the drinks being served. We didn’t always buy it because the pizza was good, we bought it because the pizza was cheap. Well, things don’t change that much. This weekend, Amy stopped by the Grocery and noticed that Tony’s was a buck a pizza so she stocked up (I could eat pizza all the time!).

And I’m glad she did!

I heated up a Tony’s Peperoni pizza today for lunch and unlike the normal Tombstone’s I have I was able to eat the whole thing and I was surprisingly full after. The pizza was a little lacking in the cheese area, but add some shredded mozzarella or 4 cheese mix to the top and it’d be perfect, but for the price I was happy.

I’ve got an amazing deal for you! Be one of the first FIVE people to comment on this post and I’ll snail mail (with a stamp and everything) a coupon for a FREE Tony’s Pizza! Can’t beat that. Tell me what the weather’s like, what you like on your pizza or what beer you’ll pair with the pie and the coupon is yours.

Also, if you hit up Chris.pirillo.com, comment on ANY post there you may be elegible to win a Tech Prize Pack from Tony’s Pizza worth up to $500!! To win you simply have to:

  1. Leave a comment on the participating blog. Contest participants must send their email address with the comment to the Participating Blog. This should be done in the private field provided by the Participating Blog and should not have to be included publicly in the comment.
  2. Use Twitter to tweet a message containing the URL of the blog post that they are entering through as well as the hashtag #TonysPizza.

How about that? Free PIzza and a chance to win a prize pack worth $500!! Can’t beat that can you?

black-friday-electronics If you’re anything like me, the last thing you want to do is leave your bed on Friday morning. I’m usually stuck in a thanksgiving induced food coma that lasts well in to the Sunday after Thanksgiving and I plan to be that way this year as well. I may have to get up to put out Christmas decorations and get a tree, but thats minor compared to battling the crowds at the local mall or Best Buy. British Airways One of the things on my list of things to do is travel the world. I’ve done most of the US and the Caribbean, but I want to see Europe. Every once in a while, I’ll check the online deals or I’ll listen to Clark Howard and his weekly price updates on the airlines and think to myself, “wouldn’t it be nice to pack the wife up and head to London for a week?” Or maybe you’ve been to London (you lucky sod) and you want to go somewhere like Cairo, Dubai, or Nairobi. Well, British Airways has you covered!

Through November 16th, British Airways is offering AMAZING deals on their flights from New York (JFK) to places around the world starting at $229 one way (the cheapest I saw was Madrid, Spain from $205 ONE WAY!) and hotel packages starting at $659. There hasn’t been a better time to fly with the airlines competing for passengers, plus, you can check baggage as this is an international flight so no worries about fitting everything in to the overhead!Click Here

One of the other nice things about flying British Airways is the fact that they go everywhere you want to go around the world and they do it with comfort and luxury. Over 200 in flight entertainment options, complimentary food and drinks and some of the most comfortable seats in the airline business!

I was amazed at how easy it is to book a trip using their site, now the only problem is where to go and what to do with the kids and dogs! :D

1tb External HD for $99. What a deal!

Posted on : 25-08-2009 | By : mcangeli | In : Daily Deal

0

Google Buzz

Once in a while, I get an email with an amazing deal in it. Usually these are things like Amie Street Music adding 20% to whatever you put in your account to buy music with or things like FREE shipping when you spend $20 or more. Today, something came across my desk that was just too good to pass up. TigerDirect.com has a Fantom GF1000EU G-Force 1TB External Hard Drive on sale this week (well, through the 30th) for only $99.99. That’s $30 cheaper then I can purchase it from CDW or any of the other online retailers and at that price it works out to something like 9 cents a Gig. You can’t buy that kind of storage already in an external case anywhere else!!

If you’ve been looking to add storage to your laptop or desktop, this might be the way to go. It can hold about 424 two hour DVD quality movies or 880 DAYS worth of mp3’s. Think about that. Thats over two years worth of music on one drive. You’d NEVER hear the same song again.

I’d recommend it for laptops or netbooks, but the Fantom GF1000EU G-Force 1TB External Hard Drive does require an additional power source. It might be the perfect thing to leave on your desk though for when you need a little extra space. Its USB 2.0, it has an eSATA port on the back as well (cable not included) and is plug and play. Plug it in, fire it up, and your computer has an additional Terabyte of storage.

If the Fantom GF1000EU G-Force 1TB External Hard Drive is too big, you might want to check out the Dane-Elec 1gb Capless Flash Drive instead…
