It would seem that the democratic candidates are doing a better job at destroying their party then the GOP ever could. I haven’t written much about politics (or anything lately) since Huckabee was knocked out of the race, but the way Clinton and Obama go after each other, they seem to be doing little more than dividing the liberal base more than before.
Much to the point is the fact that Obama is (for all practical purposes) the nominee, yet Clinton still refuses to acknowledge that or step aside and let him move on. Bill Clinton was on record the other day talking about the fact that Clinton supporters are more against Obama then before. While this means some good news for McCain, its only good if they actually come out to vote. Lets see how long this infighting in the Democrat party can last. Maybe it will take some heat off the general election.
Either way, its a good thing that the popular vote does not decide the president…..

I just stumbled onto your blog, and had to say hello. I think you are right that the party is being broken apart, much like when a doctor has to break a bone in order to proper set it, and allow it to heal. Maybe that is giving a lot of credit to any political party, but I like to think of it as a metaphor for what is happening in our country as a whole.

I couldn’t agree more, and I’ve always leaned democrat. Frankly, I’m sick of this typical political bickering coming out of Washington.
The only candidates I really liked for president were out of the race a long time ago. Huckabee was actually one of them.
Huckabee is one of the few good Republicans left. He’s conservative to a tee, and actually cares about the people. If it was him or Hillary, I would have voted for him. Obama would be a tough choice, and would be based on if he could actually make progress on backing up his talk about being for reducing the poverty divide, and health care crises.
Hillary’s excessive bickering is what lead me to choose Obama over her, even though they both come off as “typical politicians” to me.
I agree politics suck. Personally I find the two problems with McCain are lack of support for any form of health care reform, and his hard stance on Iraq, and even considering of going into war with Iran.
I find problems in the same issues with Obama as well. He lacks solid siding in plans for health care, and he doesn’t want to force US contractors to renegotiate their contracts in Iraq before we pull out (something key to peace.)
I don’t even see why I should dignify Hillary with more of a comment than calling her a “Typical Politician that doesn’t know when to give up.”
