265152959_f995e03b12_m Its been a heck of a year so far, and here we are already heading in to February! Can you believe it?? Anyways, earlier in the month I had announced a contest for an itunes gift card. All you had to do to enter was include a link back to the post about the contest in one of your posts. You would have thought that with the ease of adding a link to a post, that people would be clamoring over each other to get a bit of the action. Well, you’d be wrong.

One lone reader dared do what no one else would. She linked to the post and lo and behold she won a gift card! I gave the option of amazon or iTunes and being the smart chica she is, she chose the amazon card. WAY TO GO CHICA!!

I promise I’ll have another contest in february, maybe this time around two people will play!

Well from my personal experience with running your own contests; you usually only got your core readers to participate.

Unless you have a huge following or high traffic rate to your site. Not that many people will enter, no matter how easy the contest is.

I remember offering a $100 dollar gift card to iTunes or Amazon. Or if the winner was outside North America or didn’t want the gift card $50 cash. All they had to do was mention the contest on their blog and link to the contest post.

I got 4 whole contestants :-)

Hope I didn’t sour you on running contests, maybe you’ll have better luck next time!
