No Wineing!

A while ago I talked about a coffee of the month club and how perfect that gift would be for my in-laws. Well, I still believe that one would be good for the in-laws (mine anyways) but if yours tend to prefer “drinks” with dinner, perhaps the wine of the month club would be something more up their alley.

The Wine of the Month club sends out selections (usually a red and a white) monthly from some of California’s finest smaller winery’s. They offer four different levels of “membership” in the club and I believe for as little as $32 a month ($384 a year) plus shipping you can have two bottles of wine delivered. The different levels go up in price based on quality and availability of the wine they are offering at the time. Its a pretty cool deal if you have anyone who considers them self a connoisseur.

Its also a good way to learn more about wine. With each monthly delivery you receive a newsletter and other information from the winery’s. Its pretty a pretty cool way to give a gift and the nice thing is that you aren’t locked in to a certain number of months, you can stop it at any time. I’m waiting on my delivery to come in and as soon as it does, you can bet I’m going to enjoy uncorking a bottle of red with the next steak I grill.

There are really great wines out there to try, and these places give you an excellent way of getting a variety, unless you happen to live in a state with outdated, stick-in-the-mud laws that prevent alcohol from being shipped to you directly. Which I am. But you won’t hear any whining from me. Just the occasional small hiss of disappointment as I tap out another soon-to-be-ignored letter to my designated lawmaker.

Yea, when I looked at the club, it did not have GA listed in the places they ship too, but I ordered anyways… and lo and behold! A week later it was sitting on my door step… :)

I guess what they don’t know won’t hurt them. Besides, its not like it was delivered on a sunday…
