It appears that as we get closer to November 4th, people (by people I mean the WSJ) all across the country are beginning to look closer at Obama’s proposed “tax cuts” and other tenants of his campaign. One of the most startling things people are finding is that while he promises to cut taxes on 95% of families (40% of which do not pay taxes) he’s “proposing one of the largest tax increases ever on the other 5%”. Something hardly anyone was talking about a week ago.
Now MSM (main stream media) and Others are finally taking note. So yes, while he would “cut” taxes, the truth is that just like other democrats before him who promised lower taxes, he’s actually raising them. In fact, according to the WSJ article:
Some families with an income of $40,000 could lose up to 40 cents in vanishing credits for every additional dollar earned from working overtime or taking a new job. As public policy, this is contradictory. The tax credits are sold in the name of “making work pay,” but in practice they can be a disincentive to working harder, especially if you’re a lower-income couple getting raises of $1,000 or $2,000 a year.
Thats something you won’t hear any of the talking heads on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN or any other MSM outlet mention or ask him about. Its only a wonder why we haven’t heard that from the McCain Camp yet.
He’s old. While he’s not the first to admit it, dad isn’t the spry young thing he used to be. He takes longer making it down the trail head to the campsite these days. It takes a little longer to get him to help move larger objects around the house (though he still manages to do it) and it takes some advil and a beer in the evening to help ease the pain. Its not that he’s inactive, but quite the oposite.
Several years ago, he started the volunteer group at Kennesaw Mountain to help the park with trail work and he actively contributes his time and talents today working at the park (if he’s not at home doing something, chances are he’s at the Mountain working on a trail or a bridge or something). The guy is amazing. Its a wonder he keeps working as hard as he does. Of course, its also because of the work that he see’s a chiropractor several times a month and I own stock in the company that makes Alieve.
Recently, I had the opportunity to use Freeze It Gel. I received some in the mail and I thought I’d give it a go on my lower back pain. I was pleasantly surprised. The gel worked so well on my lower back pain, I gave the second packet to him to try out and he liked it as well. With in seconds of applying the gel, the pain actually melted away. It worked on my lower back and I figured if it worked so well on my constant pain (I hurt my back several years ago swinging grace around in a way I shouldn’t have ) it would work for him.
While his pain comes from the work he puts in helping to preserve one of our nations historic battle field parks, the cooling effect of Freeze It would help him more than it would help me. Freeze IT helps with sore muscles, arthritis, muscle strains and more.
So I was able to get the police report today. Which in itself is amazing as the accident was on Friday and I was told three to five working days. Must have been slow for the Acworth Police until this morning (check the news…). Anyways, I’ve contacted the insurance company for the other driver and he had already filed a claim. I faxed the police report to the agent and have it set up so that I can drop the X off at the body shop in the morning. w00t! Hopefully I can pick the car up next monday when we get back from Disney.
Things do have a good way of working out. Now thats all left to do is pack. Amy packed the girls yesterday, there’s some tweaking we have to do, but once amy and I are packed tonight, I can load the car so we can get an early start tomorrow morning. Look out Disney, here we come.

There has been talk on some of the boards lately about the best ways to promote your blog both on line and off line. Out side of the obvious (making comments on other blogs, posting links on forums and traffic scams like Blogrush) there are some non-obvious ones. If you work for a company that has a business card, look at one of your cards. It has all your contact information on it. Name, Phone, Email and most of the time websites. If you can have one for your job, why not have a business card for your blog?
You can get 100 Free blogger cards from ooprint right now and all you do is pay shipping. Its a really cool deal if you’re looking for a way to promote your blog or other personal site. The templates they have are pretty cool as well and you can decide what information you want on them. It can’t hurt to have another way to promote your blog can it??
This time its an RSS plugin I’m lovin on and its good. FeedBurner FeedSmith 2.3 by feedburner themselves helps consolidate all the wordpress feeds in to one easy to find feedburner feed. “But Mark, why would I want that??” simple. It allows anyone to go to your RSS feed on your page (delusionsofgrandeur.org/feed/) and get the feed through feedburner allowing for better stats tracking of the feed. This way you can get an accurate count of those people burning your feed baby!
