Perhaps one of the all time greatest movies ever produced (yes, Joana, I said EVER) was the Shawshank Redemption. When I saw that movie, I loved it. I watch it every time its on TV (God Bless TBS!) and I’ve been looking for a copy of it on DVD ($5 walmart bin anyone?). I was a little startled to learn that it was written by that master of suspense and horror, Stephen King. I haven’t watched many of his other movies, carrie was too scarry, IT wasn’t, there was that one made for TV movie I caught of his and I haven’t read too many of his books outside of the Dark Tower Series and (I think) Return to Atlantis (or something like that).
When I came across the site for The Mist by Stephen King, I’ll admit I was a little afraid. My idea of a good movie is one that isn’t quite as scary as um, say, a Stephen King novel.
I bravely sat through the trailer though and having done so, I will be the first to admit, the next time a heavy fog comes rolling in Kennesaw, I’ll gladly stay inside with the lights off and the doors and windows bolted shut. I may have to rent the movie though when it comes out on DVD.

In the past 3 weeks I think I’ve spent probably $40 in that damn $5 bin. There are movies I want to buy only because they’re $5–I would never buy them otherwise…I need help!

It is Hearts of Atlantis. And some of is other non-scarry movies include The Green Mile, and apparently The Running Man (yes the one with Arnold).

Indeed he did! My mom hated the movie…I distinctly remember that.
