A time to be critical

Apparently, Hillary got her feelings hurt when Bush used an analogy comparing the democrats who do not heed the warnings about Iran with those who did not heed the warnings about Hitler and Lenin. Sharply speaking out against the comparison Clinton said

“George Bush’s faulty and offensive historical analogies aren’t going to end the war in Iraq, make America safer or bring our troops home,” the New York senator said Thursday in a statement. “Americans are tired of the president’s efforts to play politics with national security and practice the politics of division.”

If I remember correctly, she didn’t complain (and may have even been one of those dropping names) when people in her own party compared President Bush to Hitler directly. Bush didn’t call them Hitler or Lenin, he merely said they were like those who didn’t listen to warnings about those two. A totally different angle and one that should not have gotten clinton’s undies in a wad. Though with the way her numbers have been slowly dropping this week, its a wonder she hasn’t bitten the head off of one of her junior staffers yet.

The democratic party has other worries though, with the congressional approval rating hanging below 25% approval for the third straight poll. Its funny how Congress now has a lower approval rating than President Bush. What happened to all the changes and promises the Democrats made prior to taking control in January? Could this bode well for the GOP in 2008?

One can only hope. Why did she take such offense to a comment like that? Because it was far too close than she was comfortable with. That’s all there is to it. It’s perfectly acceptable for her to do name calling but should anyone actually say the truth about her, oh no, we mustn’t have that!

Like everything else the Dems usually promise, empty air.

Apparently even Pelosi is unhappy with their results so far… http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071101/ap_on_go_co/congress_pelosi_2

Now that just totally made my day. I find it so very ironic that someone who was so sure that a democratic-lead congress would set things straight and pick this country up by the bootstraps. Even she has to admit that they aren’t amounting to anything. hah!

I think her point was more that she’s disappointed they haven’t ended the war in iraq yet. But yea, it is ironic that she’s unhappy with the congress she’s in charge of.
