Growing Older

Saturday was a sad day. Well, not really, but it made me feel a year older. Grace turned four. Its hard to believe that at 7:21pm on October 27th, 2003 I became a father. Even harder to believe is that since then we’ve had another child, added a dog, bought a house and I’ve changed jobs. Now, I’m greeted with “daddy, I’m four now, I can do it myself” when I offer some help with something that last week she needed me for. Its a little sad.
The party was fun and for us, relatively low key (I’ll post some photos later today). We had some of her friends over (less than 10) and they played outside and inside, ate pizza and cake and had fun (in the words of anna, “I like sugar!”). Grace made out good, her trip to Disney in November should be covered as far as her souvenirs go, she got some money for college, a bear and more princess stuff. Not to mention that she gets at least three more parties this week (a halloween party at school tomorrow, one at mary’s and then a birthday party at mary’s on Thursday…) the kid makes out pretty well.
Despite the fact that she’s “bigger” now, she’ll always be my little munchkin. They both will.

I have a 3 year old. It floors me how quickly they grow up.

It sounds like your little girl made out like a bandit at her birthday party!
On top of that she gets some more parties (Halloween ones too I presume?) this week as well? Lucky! I wish my birthday could have been in late October when I was a kid. For a kid, it’s no fun having your birthday two days away from Valentines.
Are you going to be taking her trick or treating in your neighborhood?

Aww
I don’t have any kids but I can imagine how fast time flies when you have one and watch them grow up. Four is such a cute age! I can’t wait to see pictures from the party and I bet she can’t wait to go to Disney!

My Birthday is Thanksgiving week–I get food in lieu of presents, and any Birthday money always goes to Christmas shopping. I feel like I’m almost more gypped than kids with close-to-Christmas Birthdays!
