I’ve recently decided that online contests are cool (we’re running one here if you haven’t heard…). There are blogs dedicated to contests. Some are blog related (make a post on your blog, win a prize) some are comment related and some are video contests. I haven’t gotten in to the realm of videos yet (at least not for making them and posting them on the blog). I’m not a fan of the way I sound on tape and I haven’t found a goon willing to be in the videos yet (maybe I could get grace to do it…) but when I do, I’ll have to check vidopp.com out for some things to enter.
The contests are good for several reasons, the biggest being the boon to traffic that they seem to bring. Vidopp scours the web and puts all the current video contests in one easy to find place which is nice (much like contestblogger or other contest related sites). Best of all, they do the hard work for you by reviewing the rules and small print on each contest and all you have to do is post your videos.

I don’t like being in videos either. When I do video things for ppp..I have my little brothers do it. People want to see little kids..not me! haha I didn’t know about either of those sites though. Worth it to check them out

The prizes would hav to be really good. Videos take way too long to make.

The only digital camcorder I have is the one on my phone, so as you can imagine, the quality is pretty poor. I know I have Windows Video Maker on my computer, although I’ve never used it, but I don’t have any experiance editing videos. Combine that with footage shot with a low quality lens and you’re going to get a very sucky video from me.
In a contest of videos I know mine would be the laughing stock!
But give me another kind of contest and I’ll give it a go!

I’m a little addicted to online contests. I have a separate folder in my bookmarks for contests to enter. I think I’ve entered in more than 10 different blogging contests to win a Wii–no luck just yet, but I’m not giving up!!

Yea, I’ve become addicted to them too and I think that Mouseclone has as well now that he’s won an iPod.
Its a great way to meet new bloggers as well as get more bloggers to visit your site!

It really is–I’ve already got a ridiculous amount of bookmarks, but I’ve added so many since I started out seeking these contests!
I’m sure you already know about it, but just in case, I like checking out http://blog-contests.net/ to see a good chunk of the latest contests going on.
