Three Must See Shows

Google Buzz

I was bummed when NBC didn’t pick up the sleeper of last season, Studio 60. I was a little more bummed when Fox dropped Standoff. I thought both of those shows were the stand outs from last season (I never understood the attraction to heros and I still don’t other than Hayden and now Kirsten Bell being on the show). I gotta say though, NBC has redeemed themselves a little with three of this seasons best new shows, Life, chuck and Bionic Woman.

These three shows have me tuning in every week (it helps that the CIA agent on Chuck and cruise’s partner on Life and Jamie on Bionic Woman are all HOT) to see what happens next. They are all well done, the actors are, from what I can tell, relatively unknown (Adam Baldwin on Chuck was on Firefly) and the stories are pretty compelling as well. The effects in Bionic Woman could have gone over the top, but have been kept fairly realistic and the story behind how she came to be bionic is compelling as well.

The most far fetched of the three is possibly chuck (who now holds all the NSA and CIA’s secrets in his head), but thats easily forgotten when you look at the action and how well everything ties together. My favorite and the one I will not miss every week is Life. I like the zenlike attitude that Charlie has adopted since being in Prison for a crime he didn’t commit and the fact that half of the force seems to be with him and half against makes for some good action too. All in all, while I miss the old, I like at least, three of the new…

I enjoy Life and Chuck too. However, you forgot to mention Dirty Sexy Money!

Yea, I haven’t gotten in to DSM. Peter Kraus (is that how his name is spelled?) was good in SportsNite and 6 feet under though…

I didn’t even realize they had made Bionic Woman into a new television series! I just really don’t watch television anymore. Bad me. I haven’t even watched Moonlight (the vampire detective one) and I liked the first episode.

I used to love watching the reruns for the Six Million Dollar Man, but The Bionic Woman was much better in my opinion. XD Did you ever see the old television series? How would you compare the new one to the old one?

I never watched the older series, but the new Bionic Woman kicks butt. Never got in to moonlight either. Its hard for me to get in to shows that come on before 10pm as I’m usually putting the little monsters to sleep and cleaning up from dinner.

I haven’t heard much about Life or Chuck..I’m going to have to check those out though. Bionic Woman I have seen commercials for though and I dunno…it looks like a bit of Dark Angel in there. I will probably end up watching it once or twice to see if I like it :P

If you have cable or satellite, I believe you can watch them on SciFi channel still. They are both definately worth watching IMO.

It’s hard for to just remember to tune in I’m afraid. Half the time, by the time I remember, the show is already over.

Sometimes it is hard to make a new series tht doesn’t borrow heavy from the experiences of others. I’ve seen a trend, when it comes to horror series, to borrow from the lessons learned by BtVS for example.

I have to add another show, not new but definitely great: Supernatural. Seasons one and two are out on DVD. Just go buy them. You’ll want to watch it over and over again so best to save rental fees up front. I didn’t start the Bionic Woman because I feared they would can it (remember surface, invasion?). I’ll have to catch up when it comes out on DVD. I LOVE Chuck. Even my mother watches it.

Hmm…I disagree. I’d recommend checking out a few eps online before looking further into Supernatural. I think it’s a horrible show. Most anyone I know has either loved it, or absolutely hated it, so I wouldn’t dive into it without checking it out first.

Jade’s last blog post..You’re gonna want some cheese.
