Happy Birthday

Fifty years ago this week (october 4th, 1957 to be exact) the soviets launched an ICBM in to space with a satalite (sputnik) spurring the US in to action. this eventually led to the creation of ARPA, the Internet Processing Techniques Office, the GUI, ARPANet and what eventually became known as the internet. Who could have imagined that such an event would lead to spam, online addiction treatment, email, viral videos (did you see the eh marine video?!?!?) and more? God Bless you sputnik and happy 50th birthday.

Happy fifty years of technological upsmanship! Sputnik spawned ARPANET, which changed everything! Everyone’s daily life is totally different now because of it!
