One of the owners of the company where I work likes to do wood working. He brought back a bunch of redwood from California when he went there on business before. One of the the things he’s pretty good at making is custom pens. He’ll put a nice piece of red oak on a lathe and have that thing spun down until its a nicely weighted pen that looks good too.
