There’s been a movement among the democrat party to move away from the name “Democrat” to liberal and now progressive. They all mean the same thing really, but I came across a reason for this move this morning while reading the Boortz Neuze Blast for today.
Founding Brothers: The Revolutionary Generation takes a look at the founding fathers of our country, the influences on them and the dynamic between them. It promises to make a pretty good read and I’ve already ordered (a used copy) a copy of the book to read. But the interesting thing is a quote from the book that boortz posted today:
… the term “democrat” originated as an epithet and referred to ‘one who
panders to the crude and mindless whims of the masses.
If that isn’t accurate, I don’t know what is when it comes to describing the Democrat/Liberal/Progressive/Communist party in this country. Do you?
