Septembers Monthly Give Away!!

Thats right!! Last months contest was such a hit  I’ve decided to do it again! However, this time, I’m using a cool new site to help me do it. ContestMachine is an online contest site that will host your contests for you. They offer free and paid accounts with the obvious benefits for paid accounts (more contests per month).

This month, all you have to do is register for the contest through the widget. Thats it. One lucky winner will receive a Pound of Carolina Morning Blend Coffee (whole bean or ground, your choice) and 1000 Entrecard Credits! A second winner will receive 500 EC Credits. How freaking cool is that??

Oh yea, here’s the widget!

A new Season begins!

And I’m not talking about fall or sports! The Fall TV Season is finally getting underway and low and behold, almost none of my favorite shows from last season are back (Studio 60 and stand off). There is a promising show on the CW, called Gossip Girl. Supposedly this is another “teen drama” about a group of socialites in New York who are the subject of one of their own’s blog. Its an interesting concept and if its done right it could show how bloggers can influence things (especially fights between friends).

The idea of a “gossip” blog certainly isn’t new and to some extent all bloggers do it. We take something we heard some where and spin it to a way thats favorable for us (and not necessairly the other party). Look at the sites like the Superficial or Perez Hilton. Nothing but Gossip. Engadget and techcrunch do the same thing for the tech scene as the previous two do for celebrities, so certainly gossip is nothing new. However, its never been the subject of a TV show before.

Apparently, on the show, the identity of the “Gossip girl” is a mystery and one that stirs a lot of contempt in the group as well. Picture something like “Fake Steve Jobs” or LonelyGirl15, on a grander scale. Gossip Girl is brought to us from the mind that brought us The OC and is based on the novel by Cecily von Ziegesar. If it lives up to the hype, this one might have a chance. I’ll have it on anyway (maybe in the background) on September 19th to Gossip Girl on The CW as most of the other season premiers are a week or so later…

Luke Walton for Amie Street Wed.

Wow. Three weeks of Amie Street Music Wednesdays and the finds keep getting better and better. This time I’m sharing a guy I found on Amie Street. Luke Walton rocks. Acoustic guitar and a good voice make this whole album worth buying. Listen to the string work on the prelude, the lyrics on Dirty Blonde and everything in between and you’ll walk away happy. I promise.

If you have a find on Amie Street, share it!
