Got the Time?

When my grandfather passed away two years ago I inherited an atomic clock and I thought little about it. I hung it on the wall in what is destined to become my work room (when i finally get around to finishing it). From what I knew of it, it updates itself automagically and I don’t have to worry about it (it keeps awesome time). Well, I was doing some cleaning and I got a little curious about the clock so I did some research on it, which is how I found out its an Howard Millar Atomic Wall clock!. Its a really good quality clock (which is not surprising since it was my grandfathers…).

I had never heard of Howard Miller until I visited 1 800 4 clocks.com and came across the Howard Miller clocks pages (there are a ton of clocks there!). If I had a place for it, I’d love one of the Grandfather clocks as well, those things are amazing! Any ways, I did a little more digging and came across their blog as well and found This Post on the history of atomic clocks and how they work. Its mind boggling to think that my clock, tucked away in a room in the basement, reaches out and gets its time from a super accurate clock some where in the midwest. Thats what happens though and I couldn’t be happier (it keeps excellent time!).

I’m going to visit 1-800-4clocks.com soon, Amy and I are trying to find the perfect clock for the kitchen and we’re having issues with that…
