Be a Captain!

I wrote about the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk in a previous post but I wanted to talk about it again because I believe its a worth while cause (both of my grandparents suffered from Alzheimer’s). The walk, one of the largest in America has been held annually since 1989 and has raised over 125 million (thats 6 zeros!!) for Alzheimer’s research. Thats amazing!!

Walks for 2007 are being organized all across the country and the need for Team Captains is great. Its a Team Captain’s responsibility to get a group together (maybe some people from your office, your church or even your neighborhood) to walk and raise money for this outstanding cause. Besides being an AWESOME way to help raise money and awareness of this cause, its a good way to make new friends and meet new people. If you don’t think you could be a Captain, visit the site and find a team in your area to help out or just donate to the cause.

Chances are that at some point in your life, you will know someone who is affected by Alzheimer’s. Signup early to make sure that your team has an opportunity to participate in the walk this year. If you do walk, let me know how it was.
