What next?

I received an email today from “refund@irs.gov” here’s what it said:

After the last annual calculations of your fiscal activity we have determined that you are eligible to receive a tax refund of $109.30. Please submit the tax refund request and allow us 6-9 days in order to process it.

A refund can be delayed for a variety of reasons. For example submitting invalid records or applying after the deadline.

Regards,
Internal Revenue Service

Apparently, this is the latest in the Nigerian vein of internet scams. I wonder if anyone has fallen for it yet? Luckily, it ended up in my spam folder. I also thought about it, the IRS does not usually communicate via email, almost everything (the good and the bad) comes via the postal mail with them.

I did file etax (through turbotax), however, even when I do that, the IRS communicates via postal mail rather than email.
