I’m So AT Taos!

We spent our first night in New Mexico in Taos at the Historic Taos Inn. Some pretty famous people have stayed there over the years that its been open and you can see why. The rooms, while not the largest around are nice and quaint. They have some pretty nice features and the gardens and landscaping around the inn are nice. Not to mention, Doc Martin’s does a pretty good breakfast as well.

We got in around 5pm after driving down from Denver (came down I-25 to CO 160 and then to 152, I think…). On the trip down, we had some awesome views as we entered the southern rockies, you can see a ton of photos in the gallery from the trip, and Amy picked a sunflower (Sunflower Sunflower) that made the whole trip with us (including the flight back to Atlanta) living in a water bottle. Once we checked in, we freshened up a bit and hit the town square in Historic Taos for some shopping and live entertainment (they’re doing a live music on the square every Thursday this summer which was cool). We tasted some wine from a local Winery and caught dinner on a balcony over looking the square where we had a good view of the sunset and could take in the music and local atmosphere at the same time.

We made it back to the room at about 9pm local time (which was 11pm Eastern) and went almost straight to sleep. Remember, we’d been up since 4:30am Eastern on Thursday so we were pretty beat. We got up Friday morning and hit the town for some more shopping before heading east on 64 towards Cimarron and Philmont. All in all, Amy decided she was so at Taos!
